Detailed below are instructions for installing the CD ROM kit to update your GT2001/2002 to the latest version. USTSFC3.0. The CD upgrade will only update GT games containing software versions US 2.5.1 or later. To update earlier version, please contact our service department.
(1). THIS IS A 3 CD KIT. THE FIRST 2 CD'S WILL UPDATE YOUR GAME TO VERSION 3.0; THE THIRD WILL UPDATE THE GAME TO VERSION 3.02.
(2). YOU MUST INSTALL THE FIRST 2 CD'S COMPLETELY AS OUTLINED BELOW, BEFORE INSTALLING THE THIRD CD. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS SEQUENCE
WILL RESULT IN A FAULTY INSTALLATION AND MAY RENDER YOUR GAME INOPERABLE.
Reminder: If your GT2002 game was shipped from the factory equipped with software version US3.0, DO NOT INSTALL THE CD ROM KIT. Contact our service department and we will exchange your hard drive to update the game to version US 3.02.
READ THE INFORMATION BELOW ENTIRELY, SO YOU ARE COMPLETELY FAMILIAR WITH THE OVERALL PROCEDURE BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE INSTALLATION. BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOU MUST HAVE A CD-ROM DRIVE WITH A MINIMUM SPEED OF 40X AND CAPABLE OF READING AN 800 MB HIGH DENSITY CD-ROM. FAILURE TO USE THE CORRECT CD-ROM DRIVE MAY RESULT IN AN IMPROPER INSTALLATION AND RENDER THE GAME INOPERABLE.
THIS PROCEDURE WILL TAKE APPROXMATELY 1.5 HOURS.
To access the electronics tray with the CD-ROM connection, open the front black cover of the game. Pull out the electronics tray and secure it in a horizontal position.
Remove the blue or black cover off the game and place to the side for re-installation later. Put the cover on a protective surface to prevent scratching of the painted finish. The CD-ROM connection is located at the back center of the game.
Installation for Upright & Countertop CD-ROM Connection:
Step 1: Make sure the power is off to the game.
Step 2: After you have gained access to the electronics tray in either the upright or countertop games locate the CD-ROM connector. Refer to Pic 01 for the upright and pictures 02 & 03 for the countertop. The CD-ROM cable is a gray 40-pin ribbon cable. The countertop model may have either of two connection points, verify which connection point you have by referring to Pic 02 and Pic 03.
Step 3: Install a 40-pin ribbon cable into the customer supplied CD-ROM drive and then into the CD-ROM connection point on the game. The CD-ROM ribbon cable will only fit into the connector one way and that is with the red stripe facing the same direction as on the game. Make sure that the red stripe is facing the power connection side on the customer supplied CD-ROM drive.
Step 4: Plug the 4 Pin AMP connector into the customer supplied CD-ROM drive. The square 4-pin connector plugs into the game. Refer to Pic 01 for the upright power connector location and Pic 02 and Pic 03 for the countertop power connector location.
Step 5: Turn main power on.
Step 6: Open your CD-ROM access door and place the CD # 1 GT2002 Up-Grade into the compartment. (Do not close compartment)
Step 7: Turn main power off. (Wait 5 seconds) then turn the main power on, the CD-ROM door will close and begin installing CD #1.
Step 8: When software installation of disk 1 is complete, your screen will read:
Please eject CD #1, insert CD #2, and reboot the system. Open the CD-ROM
door and remove the CD #1 from your CD-ROM drive and place the CD # 2
GT2002 Up-Grade into the compartment. (Do not close compartment)
Step 9: Turn main power off. (Wait 5 seconds) then turn the main power on, the CD-ROM door will close and begin installing CD #2.
Step 10: When software installation of disk 2 is complete, your screen will read:
Upgrade finished GT2002 USTSFC3.0 please eject CD and reboot the system.
Open the CD-ROM door and remove the CD #2 from your CD-ROM drive and close
the compartment.
Step 11: Turn main power off and disconnect the CD-ROM drive, the supplied 40-pin ribbon cable and the supplied CD-ROM power cable from the game.
Step 12: On the upright model slide the electronics tray back into the game and close the front black cover. On the countertop game, re-install the blue back cover.
THE INSTALLATION TO UPGRADE YOUR GT GAME TO SOFTWARE VRSION US 3.0 IS COMPLETE. YOU MAY NOW CONTINUE THE INSTALLATION TO UPGRADE YOUR GAME TO VERSION US 3.O2.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR CD #3 USTSFC 3.02
Note: Only install CD # 3 if upgrading from USTSFC3.0C
REPEAT STEPS 1 THRU 12 ABOVE TO INSTALL CD #3.
